Welcome to Anchor
30 Oct, 20233Anchor was founded over sixty years ago, and is now the largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for older people in England.
Today, we support more than 65,000 residents at almost 1,700 locations across England. Our ageing society means we want to do even more to meet increasing needs in a sustainable way.
We are a Community Benefit Society, a Registered Provider of Social Housing, and provider of CQC-registered services. We are proudly not-for-profit and as such all of our surplus in reinvested for the benefit of our current and future residents and colleagues. We seek to maximise our efficiency and evolve our offer so that more people can have a home where they love living in later life.
We are looking forward to welcoming an Executive Director for People & Culture to help us achieve our ambitions. The successful candidate will have executive responsibility for People, Communications & Marketing, and Technology, and will play a key role in ensuring a collaborative approach in these crucial central support functions.
Anchor has an ambitious change agenda, achieving value for money for residents today while investing in new technology in response to people’s changing needs. We are focused on providing high-quality specialist support, options for residents in how they engage with us, more flexible services tailored to individual needs and an efficient and future-proofed approach.
Resident involvement and a person-centred approach is embedded in all we do, meaning we are skilled in listening to residents and colleagues and ensuring their voices are shaping how we work.
We also use the insights we gain and our expertise across a range of services for older people to champion later life and speak up about the issues that matter to residents. Our recent work on older people in the workplace, for example, has been well-received by our residents as well as politicians.
This is helping to build our reputation for high-quality provision, influencing policy to benefit older people and encouraging potential residents to choose us.
With growing consumer demand for our services, we have a huge opportunity to make a positive difference for the older people of today and tomorrow.
